In 2019, Engineers in India and abroad, began discussing potential ways to give back to the Indian society.A group of Engineers, including tech CEOs, specialists and tech policy professionals met in Dubai and further iterated the need for collaboration.
The discussion in Dubai, led to a series of webinars organized globally, where thought leaders in India and the UAE participated as speakers.In 2020, such programs triggered discussions in India as well. Which resulted in a group of experienced professionals met and proposed formation of an organization of Indian Engineers to Shri A. Jayakumar (Frmr. National General Secretary- Vijnana Bharti).
The team led by Shri Jayakumar, discussed the idea and sought suggestions from Industry greats including Dr. Anil Kakodkar, Dr. Madhu S Nair and others. With inputs from the Engineering legends, BTF had a Vision and Mission developed.On 2nd April 2022, Bharat Tech Foundation was launched by Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Hon. MoS Electronics & IT at AICTE auditorium in the presence of honorary members, Shri Anil Sahasrabudhe, then-Chair, AICTE and Shri T.G. Sitharam, Chair-AICTE. Shri A. Jayakumar, the chief mentor of the organization was also present.At the launch event, Shri Sridhar Vembu, Founder and CEO of Zoho Corp was announced as the President General and Shri R. Narayanan was announced as the Director General of the organization.
