VigyanSethu 2026 – Student Idea Presentation Contest

” Sankalp se Siddhi ” Imagining India 2047: Student Visions for a Viksit Bharat

As part of “VigyanSethu 2026 – A National Technology Conclave”, a Student Idea Presentation Contest titled “Sankalp se Siddhi – Imagining India 2047: Student Visions for a Viksit Bharat” is being organized to provide a national-level platform for students to articulate their ideas, visions, and innovations aligned withIndia’s long-term development goals.

The contest aims to encourage students to think beyond textbooks and explore how science, technology, engineering, and innovation can contribute to nation building, self-reliance, and sustainable development.

About VigyanSethu

Bharat Tech Foundation (BTF), a global alliance of Indian engineers and technocrats, in association with CSIR-NIIST is organizing VigyanSethu NATIONAL TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER CONCLAVE
at CSIR-NIIST, Thiruvananthapuram from
18–20 February 2026.

This event, aligned with Viksit Bharat@2047 and Make in India, aims at accelerating collaboration between Central Government research institutes and industries for the rapid transfer and commercialization of advanced technologies.

To boost domestic manufacturing under the “Make in India” initiative,
there is a need to accelerate the transfer of commercially viable technologies from government R&D labs to industries.
With 64% of India’s R&D funded by the government, a large knowledge base is ready for market use.

The surge in Indian startups is quite promising with over  6,000 deep-tech companies, making India the third-largest startup ecosystem in the world.

Connecting R&D institutions, inventors, entrepreneurs, MSMEs, industry associations, and government officials is vital to collectively address challenges in technology commercialization.

This conclave is designed to support R&D institutions in outreach and facilitate access to commercially viable technologies for a broader base of industries and startups in India. The conclave provides a platform for:

  • Exposure of industries to technologies with commercial potential
  • Interaction of industries, startups, and incubators with inventors
  • Interaction of budding entrepreneurs (students) with inventors
  • Mentoring sessions on technology transfer, funding, and regulatory frameworks
  • Exhibition of prototypes by inventors
  • Presentations on success stories demonstrating challenges and solutions in commercialization
